Life changes, seasons change, and memories are made. The last few years have been full of transitions and taking steps along the journey of my life. Many of the changes in the last few years of my life have been out of my control. I have watched the way that people make decisions and have found that it is a great mystery to discover what people truly value. Comfort is often desired, yet the work to obtain comfort is very difficult. Peace is desired, yet the effort and time to find a quiet place of serenity is frequently undiscovered. Joy is found in fleeting moments throughout life before busyness and distractions overwhelm with anxieties. Each of us lives one life, and that life is lived one day, one hour, and one moment at a time. The pursuit of money destroys because it always comes with the desire for more. The pursuit of relationships falls short since each one is looking after their own interests. The longing for security is swept away by calamity and natural disasters, which are out of any person’s control. So this new year, remember that the life we live is a constant journey; the things disappear, the relationships journey onward, and the moments pass quickly, so take hold of each moment for they create your life.
Reflect on what is important, and dismiss what is a distraction from the life that you value. Along the journey, pause often to remember where you are really headed. Wake up each day and seek peace through time in the Word. Pursue love by caring for others, and find Jesus in each passing moment, for after all, He is never far away, and He is our destination after all.
