Love, Trust, Pray…

Love – John 3:16-17 – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Love defined – A feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend.

Love applying to my life – I have great friends, pastors, & relationships in my life. people who I can go have fun with, minister beside, and grow in Christ together with. the biggest thing I see about love is its enduring, patient, committed aspect. I’ve been a part of the same church for 17 years, been around some of the same friends for 3, 4, 10, 15 years. And been a part of my family for 22 years. In our world today, many neglect the value of spending time together, me included, sometimes it’s uncomfortable, we are busy with life, school, work, eating, sleeping, entertaining ourselves and others. but at times the best way we can show love is to just slow down.

Trust – Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Trust defined – confident expectation of something; Hope.

Trust applying to my life – This morning I had the opportunity to go downtown Tulsa, OK with my local church. We went to those on the street, workers, travelers, homeless, and shared a little love with them. About 25 of us young people went with sandwiches from Chick-fil-A. We spent a little over an hour walking down the streets passing them out to everyone we met who would accept them. Now I don’t know the life story of every person we passed a sandwich to, but God does, and this morning we brought Hope to them. some may have prayed for food and this morning we were a fulfillment of the trust they placed in that prayer.

For me this past 9 months has been a trust walk. trusting God for every need I have and then giving everything I can to open the doors of his grace into my life. and I can confidently say that He has fulfilled his part in my life. the things i have prayed and believed for have come to pass and even more. God is a God that you can trust.

Pray – Daniel 6:10 – Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.

Pray defined – to offer devout petition, praise, thanks, etc., to (God or an object of worship).

Pray applying to my life -I love God, am thankful for the price Jesus paid on the cross, & have experienced the Holy Spirit as a comforter, friend, and teacher. Yet I still struggle with consistency in my prayer life. I’ve read books, listened to messages, podcasts, lectures, and had many conversations with pastors, teachers, and friends about prayer. the biggest thing I can say is you just have to do it. It’s simple yet going back to what I said about love it takes time, effort, & energy. So my encouragement to you and to myself is stop for just a moment……. PRAY

… Now go live out today with all that you are through your relationship with Jesus Christ.
