I got back from McAllen, TX on Friday March 18th. It was such a great time with the 6th/7th graders from Victory Christian School.
From the first children’s service the youth were stepping out and ministering to people with boldness. As they performed their drama skits it was incredible to watch. Through their practice before the trip they were excellent at presenting the gospel. After each service and ministry site we did there were testimonies from the students about the different people they had talked to right after the dramas and the prayer to receive Jesus. Over the course of three and a half days we ministered to 780 people.
After each drama presentation someone on the team would give an alter call for those who heard and watched to have the opportunity to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. As the Youth went out and prayed with people and passed out this new life books, a simple book about life as a new Christian, written by my pastor Billy Joe Daugherty, there were 64 first time salvations.
It was so amazing to be a part of the students lives for this trip. They are just beginning to look into what they want to do with their life, and we as leaders were able to show them how much need for the gospel and outreach there is in the world.
As we finished up the trip we sat in a room of the hotel and shared the moments on the trip that impacted each of us the most.
To hear each moment from the students was incredible. For one boy it was digging a trench for a power line in a poor families yard. Another said picking up trash and passing out food in the same neighborhood. For many others it was playing with kids at a vacation bible school and getting to share Jesus with them as they did crafts and paint the children’s faces. For me, the best part of the trip was hearing how much each student enjoyed the trip and the many ways they had been impacted.
Thanks to each one of you who support the things that I’m doing to spread the gospel.
This Summer I am going to be in Haiti helping with pastor Rod Baker to build homes for the Children and Families who are in such need. Our church in Tulsa, OK started raising money to go build homes last January right after the earth quake.
Last June and July I went and began helping to build a base in fond parisien, Haiti. After a few weeks teams started to come and we were able to launch out more into orphanages and families who needed shelter desperately. I’m so honored to be able to go back and serve the people of Haiti who have such a great need for the gospel and for the practical love of Jesus Christ. While I was in Haiti last year we were able to build homes, a school, and a church. This summer with your help and the help of many others Haiti will be impacted even more.
